Singer D4vd’s Impounded Tesla Yields Decomposed Body, Sparking Gruesome Investigation Amid Ongoing World Tour

On September 8, 2025, a grim discovery in Los Angeles has shocked both the music world and public alike. At a Hollywood impound lot, a tow-yard worker alerted authorities to a foul odor emanating from a 2023 Tesla. When police responded, they uncovered a dismembered, plastic-wrapped body lodged in the vehicle’s front trunk—a compartment unique to electric cars—registered to indie-pop artist D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

The vehicle had been towed from the Hollywood Hills, where it was reportedly abandoned for roughly five days before workers noticed the stench. Officials had impounded the Tesla on a public street prior to the discovery.

Growing Investigation

The Los Angeles Police Department quickly classified the matter as a death investigation, with investigators—including the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division—scrutinizing every detail. The Los Angeles County Coroner is working to determine both the cause of death and whether the victim is male or female. Due to the body’s advanced decomposition and partial dismemberment, these determinations may take several days, if not longer.

D4vd’s Response and Tour Progress

Despite the gravity of the situation, D4vd—who is currently on his “Withered” world tour—has not cancelled any concerts. He performed at The Fillmore in Minneapolis just one day after the discovery, and his upcoming Los Angeles show scheduled for September 20 remains on the itinerary.

A representative confirmed that D4vd has been informed of the situation and is fully cooperating with authorities.

Background: The Artist and the Album

Rising to fame with viral tracks like Romantic Homicide and “Here with Me,” D4vd has earned billions of streams on platforms like Spotify and TikTok. Originally from Queens, New York, and raised near Houston, the now-20-year-old artist released his second studio album, Withered, earlier this year. The current tour supports this album.

Separately, Another Discovery

Adding to the severity of the LAPD’s workload, another decomposed body—this time partially burned—was found in a Honda Civic at a different South Los Angeles tow yard. Although the victims and circumstances appear unrelated, both cases are under active investigation.
