Bandra Court Sends Saif Ali Khan Attack Suspect to 14-Day Custody

Mohammed Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national who was detained in connection with the attack on Saif Ali Khan, was denied an extension of police detention. By a Mumbai local court on Wednesday, according to the latest developments in the stabbing case. The defendant has been in judicial detention for 14 days at this time.

According to Indian Express, the investigating officer contended that the suspect had scouted Khan’s building and made certain arrangements prior to executing the crime at a court hearing concerning an extension of police detention for the accused in the Saif Ali Khan case.

The official added that a team was in Kolkata looking into the accused’s possible collaborators, including those who helped him enter the country illegally from Bangladesh and provide money to his relatives there. The accused’s attorney claimed in response that the inquiry had concluded and that the police did not need to detain the accused further.

The magistrate observed that they had detained the accused for more than ten days after examining the arguments.

The judge did not see any justification for extending police custody. According to the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita’s rules, authorities may request custody within the allotted time. If fresh evidence becomes available, the magistrate continued. The authorities have placed the accused under judicial custody for the time being.

The police reports earlier stated that they detained the culprit in Thane, who is a Bangladeshi national that entered India illegally. After crossing the border, he went by Bijoy Das instead of Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad.

An accused knife-wielding intruder attacked Saif at his Bandra residence on January 16. The attacker stabbed Saif multiple times, including near his neck and spine, with the intention of robbing the star.

Doctors hastily took Saif to Lilavati Hospital for treatment, where he underwent two procedures and recuperated for five days. Thankfully, medical professionals confirmed that Saif did not have any potentially fatal injuries, and they released him on January 21.

Shehzad, Shariful Islam On January 19, police detained 30-year-old Bangladeshi national Mohammad Rohilla Amin Faki. They captured him on camera in the building’s stairs.

According to investigations, the accused, who entered India illegally, was offered fictitious citizenship credentials in return for cash. He said that he attempted the robbery to raise money for his mother’s medical bills.
